When Paul E. Dangerously showed up in WCW with a chip on his shoulder and a stable of ECW icons, fans were buzzing. Could this misfit band of hardcore warriors bring the ECW energy into WCW’s structured world? For the moment, it looks like a movement is building.

“We were a band of misfits… fighting for survival in our own backyard.”

Paul’s words in his first WCW promo were etched with fire. Sandman, Terry Funk, RVD, Sabu — bloodied legends of bingo halls and beer-soaked arenas — now stood under the WCW lights with one mission: stick together.

But in true ECW fashion… chaos is sure to follow.

While the reunion looks solid on the surface, Eric Bischoff has made it clear he has no interest in letting the group run wild. “WCW is a company, not a rehab center for failed promotions,” he quipped on commentary, already stirring the pot. Rumors backstage say Bischoff is actively working to drive a wedge between Paul and his crew, targeting individuals with solo contracts and title opportunities.

This past Thunder, the group made their presence felt. Sandman smashed a kendo stick across the back of Hugh Morrus. RVD hit the Five Star on Dave Taylor. Funk grabbed a mic and barked ‘WCW doesn’t want us here — good.’ The crowd? Torn between the rawness of ECW and sheer disbelief.

“This isn’t ECW 2.0,” said an unnamed WCW official. “It’s an invasion that doesn’t know who’s really in charge.”

As of now, the ECW Originals remain aligned. But for how long?

And with Uncensored approaching, one has to wonder — is this group here to make a statement… or implode on WCW soil?
